Lights Off, Fireflies On
Each summer, we participate in the Lights Off, Fireflies On initiative to help protect Blue Ridge’s magical firefly population. This community-led effort asks residents and businesses to reduce unnecessary outdoor lighting and help the fireflies shine. We also took part in this year’s Firefly Hour and contributed funds toward the event, bringing families together under the stars to witness the wonder of synchronized fireflies. We’re always looking for meaningful ways to reduce our footprint, including:
- Waste Reduction & Donation
- We donate any unused linens, towels, or soaps to the local women’s shelter. Partial paper goods from cabins are repurposed at our operations facility.
Energy-Efficient Facilities
Our upgraded office includes motion-activated lighting in all shared spaces, minimizing unnecessary energy usage.
Eco-Conscious Cleaning & HVAC
We’ve switched to eco-friendly cleaning products and are fine-tuning our heating and cooling systems to reduce water, energy, and emissions.
