Welcome to Tuckaway Cave – where guests rediscover relaxation and rejuvenate their spirit, just feet from the banks of Fightingtown Creek.

Located about 15 minutes from Blue Ridge in beautiful Cashes Valley, Tuckaway Cave is a 2 bedroom, 2 bath waterfront cabin rental with unbeatable end-of-the-road privacy. Guests have easy access to the Benton MacKaye Trail and a stunning waterfall, just a short walk away from the cabin.

This vacation rental in Blue Ridge gets its name from a unique feature found on its grounds – a small cave where you can actually start a fire and enjoy the sounds of nature around you. Great spot for the kids to explore!

While the beauty of nature surrounds Tuckaway Cave, inside, you will find plenty of familiar amenities to make your stay more comfortable. Take your pick from one of two bedrooms -- a king bed in the upper level, or a queen bed on the main level.

The fully equipped kitchen has updated appliances, including a gas range, oven, refrigerator r, dishwasher, and a gorgeous copper farm sink.

Stream Hulu Live on the flat-screen TV in the living room while the kids curl up around the wood-burning fireplace. Share a delicious meal with your guests around the dining room table, with enough room for four. After dinner, soak your worries away in the four-person hot tub located on the main level deck overlooking the creek.

Outside, you will find another porch with a glider, table, and four chairs. Reconvene with nature under the hot tub deck for more seating options, where you can watch the grandkids splash the day away. On the other side of Tuckaway Cave, discover an oak bench that is tailor-made for reading, relaxing, or simply watching the water as it rushes over large boulders.

When it’s time to get some shut-eye, open the windows and let the sounds of Fightingtown Creek lull you off to sleep. Life doesn’t get much better than this!

Fire Pit, Hot Tub, and Creek Out Back — Tuckaway Cave Cherry Log Cabin
Because of the fire pit, the hot tub, the creek/river in the back. Those were my three criteria that I needed. They also did not disappoint. The rest of the house is very comfortable as well.

Quiet Getaway
The access and driving directions are difficult. When are coming to the end of the directions, there is a house with signs- no trespassing, do not enter, no turn around, etc. You have to pass this house (very weird) ignore the signs and keep going. There should be a sign with an arrow 399 is ahead. The cabin is very nice! There are 2 flights of stairs to carry luggage and supplies to the front door. I do not recommend for older people.

Family Getaway to the mountains
We had been promising our boys all year we would take a mountain trip this fall. They had a few requirements and being able to fish was at the top of the list. This property did not disappoint. They were steps away from the creek and bonus was how loud it was and made for a relaxing atmosphere and great sleep. The cabin was comfortable, clean, and well equipped. The cave with the bonfire in it was a fun surprise for two pre teens and pretty cool for mom and dad too! We posted pictures on socials and immediately I had other mom friends ask me for the link to book. This cabin is fun and there is so much to do you really could spend an entire week exploring the property before even adventuring out to Blue Ridge which is an easy drive. Convenient, comfortable, and cute! We will definitely book here again.

The Staff Was Exceptionally Kind!
SCCR has been so accommodating when we had questions and needs last minute. The staff went out of their way to provide their help and we had a great stay. We loved Tuckaway Cave and would love to go again. Direct access to Fightingtown Creek, a very cool cave and fire pit, and a beautiful cabin to enjoy the summer weather. We worked with Tiffany and Graycee and everyone was terrific. They were exceptionally kind at providing me last minute guidance on possibly changing my stay. It's nice to know that the team has my back when life changes quickly!

Slept With The Door open For the Sounds of the Creek!
Great cabin! Slept with door open with sounds from the creek. Creek sounds are strong and constant. Loved the seating arra be creek and the firepit at the cave. Not exactly private but all the other features made it so worth having neighbors and road going by on other side of creek.

Quaint & the Creek Was Amazing
Even though I missed the calls from Southern Comfort employees, if I emailed I got quick responses. Everyone seemed to be very helpful. And I liked the brand touches in the cabin. I would recommend to my friends because overall it was a good experience. The cabin was quaint & the right size for my family of four. I couldn't imagine having any additional people visit. Then it'd be cramped. The cave was a neat touch & the creek was amazing! I liked reading that it was at the end of a road, but in person it wasn't quite to my expectations. I felt a bit too enclosed. However, my family enjoyed the experience.

Came for a Blue ridge Train Ride with My Sister
The cabin and stream are like heaven on earth. The hot tub was fabulous. Going back next year. The location was perfect with stream running right beside it. Even had overhanging rock formation, great for night time fire and best was the hot tub.

Cabin Was Sparkling Clean & Decorated so Rustic & Cute
Just beautiful. The view, the cabin. All of it ! Walking through the woods & getting in the river was so much fun with our kids. We loved the benches that were riverfront, we spent most of our time there and at the fire pit . The hot tub also had an amazing view of the river . The cabin was sparkling clean and decorated so rustic and cute! The cabin was super clean when we got there which I loved ! Also, Absolutely phenomenal customer service ! We accidentally left a smart watch there. We got in touch with customer service immediately & they had it shipped to us within a week!

The Only Cabin Rental Company We Have Ever Used!
We have stayed with Southern Comfort Cabin Rentals for the last several years. It's the only cabin rental company that we have used. Our cabins are always extremely clean and just what we are looking for. The staff are very friendly and helpful. We have had a few issues with our code not working when we arrive over the last few years, but it was easily resolved with the after hours number.

This was our second stay with Southern Comfort. Both have been excellent.
Home was great. The river is the best feature of the property though. Getting back up the driveway was a bit sketchy. Tires kept slipping and had to back up and retry a few times. AWD/4WD is recommended

The cabin is rustic and peaceful!
If you are looking for a real cabin vibe this is the perfect retreat. It is out in the country along a creek and really has an authentic mountain feel. The decorations were really cute. Seating and beds were comfortable. I spoke with Sharon to get the code to the lockbox, and she was wonderful. She even called back later that evening to make sure we were able to get in.

The river was awesome. There was a can in the river in front of the cabin I tried to get but couldn't. The fishing was great though. Caught many fish. Great cabin. Except pictures do not show all the stairs to get in the cabin. Still a great cabin.
