Millstone Haven - Pet Friendly Creekside Retreat

Overall, this is a great cabin. If a person has difficulty walking, it will be a challenge to to enter as the graveled walkway is steep and there are a couple of steps. After entry, the deck is flat and there are 2 bedrooms and a bathroom on the main level. The view is absolutely fantastic. We especially loved the fire pit on the deck and the view of the creek and mountains from the main house. We loved the main cabin and separate studio apartment. The main floor had an enclosed king bed and queen bed with one full bathroom. Upstairs was an open loft with a bed and bathroom. The studio apartment was well furnished with a futon, large chair, queen bed, full bath, and a kitchenette. There was no stove, but items were provided to use for cooking. We brought 6 adults and had plenty of room for all. My husband and I loved being able to stay in the separate studio apartment with our dog. We did not use the attached game room, but there was a pool table and a few other items. It looked like fun. We all loved walking down to the creek. There were plenty of chairs and a firepit, though we did not use that one. Our dog loved chasing his ball in the creek. It was deep enough for him to swim in parts, but shallow enough for me to wade in the water with him. Be careful on the gravel in the driveway. Both my 4runner and my husbands truck got stuck. I believe it had rained quite a bit the week prior, so the mud underneath was mushy. Just park so you don't have to back up the hill and it should be fine.

So I came here to escape for a bit and maybe get a *little* lost in the woods without actually getting lost, and let me tell you, Millstone Haven DELIVERED! First off, this place is so tucked away, you can practically feel the mountain air hugging you the second you step out of the car. And with the horse grazing right across farm the babbling creek felt like I'd accidentally wandered into some kind of storybook, haha! The game room is also next-level fun. If you’ve ever wanted to have a pool table and arcade machine showdown at 2 a.m., then here you go. I lost a fierce game of darts to my friend, but won at foosball - victory never tasted so sweet. Oh, and there’s also a a dog run, which my pups loved. In fact, my dogs may have loved this place even more than I did. I’m already scheming my next trip back! !

What a beautiful and welcoming property! The grounds are sprawling and ready to explore. The balcony has an incredible view. The home is nicely decorated and comfortable, with amenities galore. Love the Keurig! I spent every morning and evening unwinding on the patio enjoying the view and the sound of the creek. Slept like a rock every night, the bed was so comfy! Cannot recommend Millstone Haven enough. It\'s the picture perfect place to reset and enjoy nature.

Our family vacation at Millstone Haven was great. I will advise not to go in a normal sedan because the very last road is gravel with two drainpipes that are inches above the road and we scraped bottom of car. Cabin is nicely equipped and definitely dog friendly! Doggie door and beds -- even doggie bowls in kitchen! Then there is also small dog area adjacent to cabin within outdoor deck area with doggie door and then separate run area too. Outdoor deck was terrific with firepit, plenty of comfy seating, grills, and the hot tub. So nice to sit out and talk, listening to the babbling brook, relaxing to read a book also. Enjoyed watching the horse in pasture across area. We also had a cat come by to visit! I stayed in the apartment above game room -- that was terrific! Very comfy, mattress was brand new (still had plastic on it, lol!). Was very appreciative that there were blankets provided for couches and such. Cabin was clean and well equipped. Close to many areas to visit in many directions. If you have any people with walking issues, be away that from parking to front door is steep, and also up to game room. Oh, loved there was a wagon outside to help us haul groceries & such! Very thoughtful! Southern Comfort Cabin Rentals was excellent to rent through, patient when I asked \'dumb\' questions, and also quickly responsive when we had an issue. Another thank you to the maintenance fellow (BJ?) who helped us with getting Iphones to connect to wifi calling (yes, we\'re an older group of adults!). Definitely rent through them on next visit to Georgia mountains!

Everything was smooth and easy with check in and check out. When we arrived we didn't have the code to access the separate house on the property. I believe the woman's name was Julie, worked diligently to help us gain access. She was polite, friendly and professional. Everything was amazing. The space had everything we needed and so much more for our family. The kids and the puppy loved every second. Definitely the back porch for the adults. The kids and our golden retriever loved the creek on the property. The teenagers enjoyed the game room. The only suggestion we would have would be to add some lighting down the property around the creek so it is visible from the balcony at night.

I believe we were one of the first to stay at this beautiful rental property. It is on a hill overlooking a lovely creek - with lots of acreage privacy on all sides. The plants, trees and flowers around the property are gorgeous. We had two families - so the separate cabin was perfect for our group and we loved the game room. Beds were very comfortable. We spent most mornings and evenings on the deck - listening to the creek and the birds. The closeness to Blue Ridge was nice for day outings and great food and there is good hiking close by. We will definitely be back !
