Enchanted Mountain Hideaway - Secluded Sanderlin Mountain Retreat

Beautiful mountain retreat with majestic views. The only downside was no fireplace which I was told had one. They’re actually being two fireplaces, but they had candles inside of them and the direction said you may not use the fireplaces if there are candles set inside. We brought so much wood with us thinking we would have a wood-burning fireplace and we’re sorely disappointed it did not. There wasn’t even a fire pit in the backyard that we could burn all that wood with and we had to haul it all back home. Just don’t expect a fireplace even though it’s listed on the amenities. Otherwise, everything was good. Beautiful. There were plenty of bedrooms and space for everyone. The beds were hard as rocks so if you like a softer bed, bring a pillow top with you.

The house needs 1) new set of pots/pans. I cook daily. These pots were sub standard and so many things stuck. 2) Guest bedroom mattress on main floor needs replacing. Our guests said there is a valley in the center that they had to fight not to roll into (small people, 140 lbs, 165 lbs). Everything else was absolutely wonderful!

We had a quiet family getaway. We all unplugged from our phones and enjoyed our family time! And our dogs loved it too! Above and beyond our expectations. Loved the property with the blooming mountain laurels and the gardens! The hot tub was incredible, big with wonderful features and jets. View was stunning. House had everything we needed. Very comfortable and felt high end with great pillows, linens, and towels! We loved the property, and we loved our time there. The communication was great, the supplies and amenities at the house were thoughtful. We saw a bear! A black bear came to the yard, within the fenced in dog run area and was eating the blue berries on the tree next to the front porch! We had an up-close view of the visitor from the window in the pantry and watched as the bear went through the yard and climbed over the back fence! It was incredible and awe inspiring.

Our stay at this residence in the Big Canoe community was truly remarkable. My family and I made a deliberate effort to disconnect from our electronic devices and savor quality time together. We relished winding down and playing the games provided, with a particular fondness for the BONES game. The fully stocked kitchen allowed us to prepare delightful gourmet meals. The evening hot tub sessions, amidst the chilly weather, added to our enjoyment. And, of course, there's no forgetting the breathtaking sunrise I witnessed while sipping a cup of coffee – an absolutely spectacular view! It was a perfect conclusion to our family vacation. Plus, the house's location atop the mountain was an extra special treat for us!

The accommodations were immaculate and exceeded all expectations, not to mention the view from the back deck made the whole experience that much more amazing. Sitting back there in the morning drinking coffee and just enjoying the view while listening to the peaceful silence was everything, we hoped it would be. Inside of Big Canoe there were also several other things that we ended up taking advantage of, including several activities at the marina (paddle boarding, kayaking, and renting a pontoon boat) as well as the pool, bocce, and even some pickleball. There was so much to take in, and while we did a lot, we’ll absolutely be back again in the future. This place is easily one of the best vacation rentals we’ve ever had!

We had a wonderful time! The house is comfortable and spacious. Lots of room for adults and kids to have space. Beautiful house and comfy beds! Only suggestion would be to add a tv or two to the bedrooms for tv watching at the end of the night. Hot tub is a great plus too! Will definitely return!
