This turn of the century, secluded, rustic farmhouse is nestled in a valley between 3 mountains near the Cohutta Wilderness Area. If cabins could talk, the years of history you would hear. The walls, with pioneering family names carved into them, is where you’ll find many of the tools used by this family still hanging.

This cabin, restored with the help of local craftsmen, retains much of the historic charm of natural wood beams throughout, original wide plank wooden floors, and a wood burning fireplace built 'the old way', with stacked stone and mud foundation. The modern kitchen features stainless steel appliances, gas range, microwave and a dining area that seats four. The master suite on the main floor, outfitted with early American antiques, has a custom queen bed with a full walk-in stone shower. Upstairs, in the open carpeted loft, is a queen bedroom with a view of the fireplace.

This sprawling 68-acre property features trails, streams, and waterfalls. The Cohutta wilderness hosts 87 miles of unusual remote hiking. For those who need a retreat from the fast pace of city life, to reconnect with loved ones in the peace and quiet of the 'holler', JME is waiting for you. For nature enthusiasts, history buffs, or any city dweller just wanting to get away from it all; to roam, to learn, to rest in total privacy; JME is calling for you.

Imagine waking in the morning, not to the sounds of an alarm going off, but to the gentle call of nature. To the songs of birds and the rustling of leaves dancing with the morning breeze. Nestle on the front porch with your favorite book or loved one, nothing to interrupt you, except the occasional deer or turkey crossing your field of vision. In the evening, gather by the firepit retelling (and exaggerating) the day’s adventures, making memories that will last a lifetime while listening to nature sing you to sleep with the frogs, crickets and katydids’ night time melodies.

Please read our rental policy for our pet friendly homes, our dog friendly policy allows for up to (2) dogs in designated properties with a fee of $150.00 plus tax per dog. To ensure the comfort and safety of all our guests (including the furry ones), please inform us at the time of booking if you plan to bring your dogs. Keep in mind, some homes have size or weight restrictions, and for their safety, dogs should be crated when alone. While we may provide crates in certain properties, bringing your own is recommended. Always pick up after your pets to avoid additional fees, and rest assured, should any mishaps occur, we kindly ask for your cooperation in covering any damages. Bringing an unauthorized dog, or exceeding the limit without owner permission, incurs a $300.00 fine, plus potential extra cleaning fees up to $200.00 for non-designated homes.
