Blue Ridge Scenic Railway

Blue Ridge Scenic Railway

One of the most popular family activities in Blue Ridge! Catch a ride aboard the vintage Blue Ridge Scenic Railway from downtown Blue Ridge and enjoy a journey through the forest along the Toccoa River to the quaint towns of McCaysville, GA and Copperhill, TN. We recommend purchasing your tickets in advance or early as they may sell out during busy times of the year.

All Aboard the Blue Ridge Scenic Railway

The railway’s regular four-hour, 26-mile round trip winds along the beautiful Toccoa River in vintage, climate-controlled or open-air rail cars. The relaxing ride starts at the historic depot built in 1905 in downtown Blue Ridge, and then stops for a layover in the quaint sister towns of McCaysville, Georgia and Copperhill, Tennessee. McCaysville and Copperhill are actually one town with two names because they are located directly on the GA/TN state line. There, visitors have a two-hour layover with plenty of time to eat lunch, shop for unique crafts and antiques, snack on ice cream, or walk across the old bridge to view the river. Passengers then re-board the train for the one-hour return trip. After your ride, pose next to the train or depot for the perfect photo backdrop from your adventure.
